Younger
Sometimes it's not easy to
Move at a hectic pace
My momentum has slowed down
In every race I face
Getting older, slowing down
My energy's been sapped
Life gets harder as I age
Am I apt to adapt?
I hunger to be younger
But my hair still turns gray
At least I am not yet bald
Which would not be okay
More wrinkles start to appear
There must be some mistake
Sometimes my joints stiffen up
My back begins to ache
I need thicker glasses now
I truly am dismayed
That I could go blind or deaf
Where is my hearing aid?
Sure, I am much wiser now
But I should hold my tongue
When I'm feeling grumpier
Since I'm no longer young
Life's too short to envy those
Who are younger than me
In a world that's scared to age
I will age gracefully
