The Truth About Lying
Take a look into my eyes
I've stopped lying to you
You will see the truth in me
And that I'm honest too
I don't blame you if it's hard
To put your trust in me
In the past, my lies hurt you
Did this repeatedly
Over and over again
I thought I'd get away
With the things I used to do
The words I used to say
I want to apologize
Not because I got caught
But because it's wrong to lie
Please give me one last shot
Please give me another chance
Before you say goodbye
If you leave me all alone
A part of me will die
I love you with all my heart
Believe me, this is true
You're my friend, I don't intend
To lie once more to you
I repent, now I resent
My life of telling lies
I have learned trust must be earned
That comes as no surprise
That's the truth about lying
A fact I won't deny
To be labeled a liar
All it takes is one lie
Almost everyone has lied
Sometime back in the past
Hope that my most recent lie
Will always be my last
