    Water

     My heart was like a desert
    Among the shifting sands
    Blisters formed upon my feet
    Callouses on my hands

    Obligated to adapt
    I had to learn to cope
    Through this harsh environment
    I feared I'd lose all hope

    The hope that has strengthened me
    Given me wings to fly
    But without you next to me
    I'd feel empty and dry

    My throat's dry, I need a drink
    It is imperative
    You've been like the water that
    I need to thrive and live

    You are like the water that
    Quenches my thirsty heart
    All the love you've given me
    Was only just the start

    You came to my rescue when
    I faced an uphill climb
    You soothed every part of me
    Just in the nick of time

    You gave me the energy
    That will continue growing
    I can never get enough
    Of what's now overflowing

    You have cooled my body down
    When it was getting hotter
    I was dry, now I know why
    Your love is just like water

    You have shown mercy to me
    When things seemed at their worst
    Now I'm drowning in your love
    Water quenching my thirst

    ok, well i have to say, i love this one, i know the feeling myself, it left eventually, but atleast i know whwere your coming from, it is now added to my faves, 10 here bud

    I think this is my second favorite of your works. The idea is what caught me. I'm not always one for love, but I'm really attached to this one!
