Forbidden Love
Will she ever be the one?
Is this temporary?
Does she love me enough to
Elope so we can marry?
Her parents don't like me much
That is why I'm stressing
I sincerely was hoping
That I'd get their blessing
I love her with all my heart
From most, I've kept this hidden
Not that I'm ashamed of her
But that it's forbidden
We have a forbidden love
No one wants us to wed
They say we should take more time
And just stay friends instead
Is it me, or is it them?
Some have turned up their nose
To the very idea
That I will propose
I believe that I'm ready
I've waited all my life
For the moment when she'll say
That she will be my wife
I want to do the right thing
Who cares what others say?
I cannot please everyone
I'll do this my own way
They all hope we won't elope
What is it that they hate
About us, why make a fuss?
I'll simply have to wait
We have a forbidden love
Maybe someday we'll be
Together forever in
Holy matrimony
Should I wait and compensate?
Try to turn them around?
It's important to me that
We're all on common ground
