A Lonely Man
Desperate for companyIn my pathetic life
Seeking a good girlfriend or
Maybe even a wife
I guess I'm a lonely man
Searching for some affection
Looking out for a woman
To give my life direction
Do I really need women
To make my life complete?
Could I be a faithful man
Never tempted to cheat?
Just before I lost all hope
She passed before my eyes
I was about to give up
But now I realize
I was infatuated
My heart still turns to mush
Whenever she was around
I had to tame my crush
I loved her too easily
She was my shining star
I kept my hopes a secret
And loved her from afar
I just couldn't concentrate
She's all I'm thinking of
Is she a distraction or
The center of my love?
I mistakenly believed
She was in love with me
Just because she was so nice
And showed me courtesy
If you are a lonely man
Sometimes you will discover
Just because you've been her friend
Does not mean she's your lover
If you've been a lonely man
Don't get your hopes too high
Yet there are plenty of gals
As desperate as I
