A Good Impression
Trying to be sensitive
I'd like to be your friend
Time to be considerate
I don't want to offend
In the past I used to say
Whatever's on my mind
Speaking without thinking first
Made me sound so unkind
Now I know and realize
I was a fool when young
In my youth, I was uncouth
And should have held my tongue
It's better to keep silent
Than say something absurd
If I want to speak at all
I will watch every word
You can learn a lot about
People by how they speak
You should choose a word that's strong
And still be seen as meek
This is what I want to say
A good impression's great
But be truthful, never lie
Do not exaggerate
Remember to be yourself
Don't be someone you're not
Or risk the embarrassment
Of later being caught
I'll make a good impression
Yes, I will do my best
Even when the pressure's on
I refuse to feel stressed
I'm not anxious any more
Now I know what to do
What I'll say will be okay
When I meet someone new
