Sparrows
Little brown bird, fly to meYou are a common sight
In the suburbs and beyond
Are where your wings take flight
Nesting in an olive tree
A whole new song is sung
Your eggs have been newly hatched
Take care of all your young
Feed your offspring big thick worms
Or some that are quite narrow
There are birds more glamorous
But I prefer the sparrow
They're not like the eagles that
Are soaring high above
They're not as symbolic as
The cooing of the dove
They are not that colorful
Or beautiful to see
Yet God does love His sparrows
A sparrow just like me
