    Emotions

     Why must I let emotions
    Dictate my every thought?
    Sometimes I'm glad they are there
    But mostly, I am not

    Why must I let emotions
    Affect my life, my soul?
    How can I stay objective
    If I'm not in control?

    Emotions are an enemy
    Like anger, fear, and hate
    Depression and anxiety
    Can only complicate

    I think life's complex enough
    Why do we have to deal
    With the bad things that our minds
    Instruct us how to feel?

    Why do we have emotions?
    Why do we even cry?
    We're emotional beings
    We're human, that is why
