Faster
Craving new technologyTo make our lives complete
We don't want to feel left out
With something obsolete
It seems like we're in a race
Only the pros can master
We want gadgets and our toys
More powerful and faster
Computers, video games
And huge flat screen TVs
Movies can be downloaded
So no more DVDs
We have more things than we need
Time progresses so fast
You can call me old-fashioned
But I do miss the past
Life was at a slower pace
Our minds were not yet mush
Now our lives seem more hectic
Why are we in a rush?
Life seemed a whole lot simpler
Far less complicated
Now I just cannot keep up
So I'm more frustrated
Do we really need these things?
The faster things we crave?
With each new invention made
It's like we are its slave
What was once a luxury
Quickly becomes a need
From the light bulb to our cars
Even the texts we read
Even time's moving faster
I've wasted a large chunk
Do I need to get this toy?
One day it will be junk
