Trust
Telling lies hurts those I loveWhy can't I tame my tongue?
I'm the villain, enemy
To those whom I have stung
Of what value are my words?
Honesty is a must
I've sinned against you and God
How can I earn your trust?
This is true, I lied to you
But you are hard to fool
I have lied repeatedly
How could I be so cruel?
You will never believe me
My words now have no worth
I must be the worst liar
On the face of the earth
Just when you thought I had changed
I lied again, you see
I'm a monster, shame on me
Where's my integrity?
Once you're labeled a liar
The label tends to stay
It's unfortunate but true
They won't trust what I say
Trust is an important thing
To be trusted is great
Do not even cheat or steal
Be faithful to your mate
Someday you will believe me
I promise, I'll be true
Trust in me and you will see
I've quit lying to you
