The Potato
In the ground is where they growProbably from Idaho
Underneath the dirt and mud
Lies a healthy, hardy spud
It's a tuber, not a root
It's a veggie, not a fruit
The potato is so great
I'm so hungry, I can't wait
It's my favorite vegetable
Soon my belly will get full
With potatoes, you will see
In my every recipe
I'm addicted to French fries
They must be the perfect size
Watch my potato bread rise
And my sweet potato pies
Let me sing a lovely ballad
About my potato salad
Baked potatoes are a dream
Don't forget the sour cream
Mashed potatoes are so nice
Starchier than beans or rice
All these carbs are good for you
Tater tots, potato stew
Potatoes with my pot roast
Hash browns, eggs along with toast
At the store, they're quite a deal
Potatoes with every meal
Potatoes of every type
Truly lives up to the hype
I'm a big fan, yes I am
Just don't offer me a yam
