     Controversial issues are
    Creating a divide
    I have tried to understand
    The opposition's side

    I may not agree with you
    But I do realize
    Let's agree to disagree
    No need to compromise

    Who is right and who is wrong
    Is open for debate
    I'll respect your point of view
    I won't discriminate

    Maybe we should not bring up
    Our feuds in conversation
    We've been friends for far too long
    What's been our motivation?

    Why should we continue this?
    Why should we be obsessed?
    Let's agree to disagree
    And put all this to rest
