A Helping Hand
Don't bite more than you can chewSlow down for your own sake
Do not do the things I've done
Or make the same mistake
Don't exert yourself too much
To the point that you're stressed
Take the time to make your climb
And give your mind a rest
We live in a fast-paced world
There's pressure to succeed
No one seems to take their time
To help others in need
Help your brother, lift him up
And help your sister too
So what if there are those who
Are better off than you?
We all need a helping hand
We need to feel complete
In a world that's changing fast
Love's still not obsolete
Some people think I am wrong
As though they'd like some proof
Be a friend to your neighbor
And you won't seem aloof
You can be approachable
We all should make a stand
From now on, before I'm gone
I'll lend a helping hand
