The Extra Mile
Whenever you approach meI'd like to see a smile
Please turn your frown upside-down
And go the extra mile
You should be approachable
Polite when you're with me
Please be shrewd and never rude
The way you ought to be
I don't care if you are mad
Had a bad day at work
That does not give you the right
To treat me like a jerk
I don't care if you've been stressed
That is a lame excuse
To treat me lower than dirt
That is verbal abuse
I respect people who are
Patient and undemanding
Go the extra mile to
Show me you're understanding
In return, I also will
Do whatever it takes
To treat you with more respect
And forgive your mistakes
We'll both go the extra mile
To treat each other nice
No matter how we're feeling
I know that's good advice
