A Great Desire
Everyone's competing inThe race to have success
Everybody wants their share
And they'll take nothing less
Some think they're entitled to
What really isn't free
Dependent on government
For each amenity
No responsibility
There is simply no need
To work hard to break free from
A life of sloth and greed
From food stamps to welfare checks
To disability
And if you wait long enough
Social security
Please do not misunderstand
I care about the poor
I don't like that there is fraud
Quite like never before
I'm on disability
For I'm mentally ill
The money that I receive
Helps to pay every bill
I'm a bit ashamed of this
For receiving this perk
And could make some lame excuse
About why I can't work
Disabled and unemployed
Not a good combination
I my heart, I wish to start
A part time occupation
I believe I'm competent
I'm a man on a mission
To find a job, but it's hard
With all this competition
I may be disabled, but
I have a great desire
To work hard until it's time
To finally retire
