    Somewhere In Between

     Youth is wasted on the young
    The old do not like change
    Somehow I don't seem to fit
    Within a certain range

    I'm too old to be a kid
    I'm too young to be old
    I am somewhere in between
    I'm neither hot nor cold

    I'm too smart to be a fool
    I'm too dumb to be wise
    Somewhere in between I think
    Would be the perfect size

    I don't fit into your mold
    You may have heard the story
    Maybe I'll have to create
    A whole new category

    I must be original
    As I act out each scene
    I'm not at either extreme
    I'm somewhere in between
