Expiration Date
As I age, I turn the pageCloser to my book's end
When I die, please do not cry
Death waits around the bend
Death is a depressing thing
It cares not of your race
And does not discriminate
It's what we all will face
I know death's a part of life
So why should I be stressed
Over my own funeral?
When I am laid to rest
Death is just the beginning
Of the end of my strife
No more pain or suffering
Within the afterlife
What happens after we die
Is open for debate
What I don't want to know is
My expiration date
When and how I'll die should stay
An unknown mystery
I should not obsess too much
On my mortality
My book isn't finished yet
I have a life to live
I believe that there are more
Things of worth I could give
Every day's a precious gift
I wonder what's in store
While I'm here, it's very clear
That I can do much more
Life's not about quantity
But about quality
I will make the most of what
God has given to me
While I'm here, I will not fear
My destiny or fate
So instead, I will not dread
My expiration date
