Black Or White
If life is all black or whiteIt could be so much duller
In the spectrum of my heart
I'll see a brand new color
When it comes to certain things
Think clearly and you'll see
Every color has its day
When rainbows live in me
But lately my thought process
Has been keen and acute
In the spectrum of my mind
I've learned what's absolute
Life is filled with gray issues
A blend of black and white
Where everything's relative
The truth has lost its bite
Instead of telling the truth
We twist the facts and bend
Everything to a half truth
That's not meant to offend
I have tried to understand
The impact of this mode
A half truth is a half lie
I think I've cracked the code
Sometimes life is black or white
There's nowhere else to lean
Either way, there is no gray
Or some place in between
Either it is right or wrong
Or it is out or in
Either it's a righteous act
Or it's a blatant sin
Either it is good or bad
Or a truth or a lie
Has this black or white thinking
Made me a stubborn guy?
All or nothing's been my life
Do you think this is strange?
When it comes to absolutes
My point of view won't change
