Flashlight
I heard you wake up screamingYou came to my bedpost
And looked terrified and scared
Like you had seen a ghost
Are you haunted by a dream
That gave you quite a scare?
Are you afraid of the dark?
Obsessed by a nightmare?
You have no need to feel fear
Don't faint at every sound
I know what fear can be like
That's why I'll stay around
Every time you feel afraid
When everything seems scary
There are no ghosts to scare you
I think you should be wary
Be aware that I'll be there
To chase away your fright
If you see a shadow near
Then turn on this flashlight
Please be a brave little boy
You never have to cry
I'm your dad, do not feel sad
I'll sing a lullaby
Let me tuck you into bed
Tell you it's all okay
Let your light be a weapon
To scare shadows away
You're my son and you are loved
By everyone it seems
Now you must go back to sleep
And have the sweetest dreams
I was once a boy like you
Scared of the dark of night
My imagination would
See monsters in my sight
I also used a flashlight
So I would be prepared
Always use a strong flashlight
And you'll never feel scared
