Mercy
Let go of all bitternessAnd never hold a grudge
I've made my share of mistakes
So who am I to judge?
Please show mercy to your friends
Even your enemies
Even to the people that
Are difficult to please
This is no time for revenge
Or to retaliate
Show them some integrity
And rise above the hate
You're only hurting yourself
When you do not forgive
If you can't be merciful
What's the alternative?
You need to always forgive
The ones who've caused you pain
Don't let anger cloud your mind
Or leave a lasting stain
Mercy means not getting the
Punishment you deserve
I believe it's a virtue
That we should all preserve
In this unforgiving world
Which can seem so unfair
I find mercy refreshing
A quality that's rare
Justice has its place in life
To me, mercy is greater
Who am I to judge you since
We have the same Creator?
Blessed are the merciful
Mercy will come to you
I applaud that there's a God
Forgiving sins we do
