Sand
In the life I thought was plannedMy hopes were reduced to sand
When the wind began to form
I was caught up in a storm
Everything I had was gone
Yet I had to carry on
In this desert I must cross
I had to forget my loss
In the heat, I tried in vain
To try to conjure up rain
Maybe I should try to pray
For water to come my way
Out here in these empty spaces
I long to find an oasis
It is to the west, I think
Lord, give me something to drink
How I need to quench my thirst
Before things turn for the worst
I'll find my salvation soon
Maybe over the next dune
Lord, help me to understand
Why I'm still upon the sand
Yet I know that you are here
Helping me to persevere
Even if too weak to stand
I won't faint upon the sand
What I know is that I'm sure
That I'm destined to endure
That's because I found one, see
An oasis before me!
Now I thank the Lord above
Keep me drowning in your love
My journey has been unkind
Soon I'll leave the sand behind
It has been an uphill climb
God came in the nick of time
