Compassionate
I have been accused of notExpressing empathy
Incapable of showing
The slightest sympathy
All I've felt was apathy
I did not care, that's why
Only thinking of myself
Until the day I die
Callous and insensitive
To other people's needs
I thought that one who's too nice
Rarely even succeeds
Stepping over people was
My way to reach the top
All this selfish behavior
Had to come to a stop
Could I be compassionate?
I do believe I can
Yet a change had to happen
To this uncaring man
At this rate, I'll compensate
And make things up to you
I just need to take the lead
In all I plan to do
Real men are compassionate
It does not mean you're weak
Kind and caring men always
Know how to act and speak
I will always hold my tongue
If I'm tempted to say
Anything that's offensive
Or doesn't sound okay
I will be compassionate
Before I speak my mind
I don't want to come across
As being rude, unkind
