Wrapped Up
Affirmations, not condemnations
wrapped around this head
better off dead
disheveled,
never on the level
Talk this poison
live this trash
if it weren't for this music
might do something rash
Writing this now
this is all for show
pure sinking emotions
drowning in this bitter ocean
Some day this body
will walk through that door
and unload a lifetime
can't bottle this up much more
Wrapped up in dogmas
secrets trail this name
breaking out windows
glass houses can never contain
This smiling face
walking against the traffic
breathing in panic
with a penetrating gaze
Exactly what is the purpose
of this solitary soul?
wrestling this muse with restraint,
or falling down some black hole?
