    Poem Commentary

    Trying to put into words how it feels when I'm on a verge of another depressive episode.

    Swept Away

    Doesn't even miss me
    turn it off and walk away
    guess there's nothing left to say
    except I'm left with feelings
    never answered

    Put everything on the line
    every emotion up front
    there never were any stunts
    nor were there any lies
    now pull the wool over these eyes

    This world is bleeding
    running wild and red
    there is no quick fix
    not everything fits
    crossing every single line

    Out into the streets
    past these abandoned churches
    with wrought iron fences
    discarded and forgotten souls
    rotting beneath the soil

    As the world darkens
    these eyes are drawn to the skies
    the clouds heavy and burdened
    reflected in the barren look
    carved across this face

    Rain starts to fall
    this depression has come home
    afraid it might be here to stay
    no pharmaceuticals could keep it at bay
    goodbye world, once again swept away
