Instill
I greet the weekend smiling
with these arms opened wide
ducking thrown missiles
with emptiness at my side
Straights slamming doors
trying to rattle to the core
but I'm too indifferent
for it to make any difference at all
Living this existence alone
trying to make the best
of another pointless lesson
crammed down an unwilling throat
It's sad when a relative's life mistakes
pointlessly fill up yours with hate
when all you want is to see eye to eye
maybe even get along and relate
But the weekend is only 48 hours
locked in this room like some ivory tower
adversity is at the gate
hoping for a future
that won't arrive too late
This plate is full
I've had my fill
sick of these games of fear and control
they're always trying to instill
