House on Fire
Believe it when I see it
the same lines
week after week
failed white lies
must be behind the times
Drag her from the house
put her in the passengers seat
control every aspect
even the air she breathes
and if she acts up
threaten to leave
Psychological dramas are a joke
train wreck relationships
have no way of coping
the hope he's stoking
sickly cheapskate is choking
This house on fire
burn it all to the ground
emotionally tired
the muse is wired
Even the priest said, 'don't'
modern marriages are a joke
a need for impressing
in front of secular peers
or a need for confessing
as the lights are dimmed
and the greeting card speeches
amount to yet another twisted sin
This stomach is turning
the bored are leering
wandering attention spans
traveling into exotic lands
trying to fathom
exactly when morality spasm-ed?
where was I standing?
when will we be landing?
Believe it when I see it
the same lines
week after week
failed white lies
must be behind the times
