It is Just Talk
Talk about love, but that is all it ever is
push comes to shove,
just do away with all of it
every stinking little metamorphosis
whatever form it takes,
losing oneself completely
until the heart strings break
Death in a family,
turning the world upside down
the true colors emerge,
wet and sticky,
under the guise of depression
Eyes have been opened wide,
comments issued from these turncoats
border-lining on the snide
so crude and rude,
and straight...
the chasm is too wide
to bridge these feelings of hate
How do you sleep so soundly?
next to a foreigner so suspect, so fake
sure turned on the charm,
so why are the hairs standing up on my arms?
Talk about family,
forgetting the very concept
about bonds, so out of bounds
asking for personal favors, truly out of flavor
she sure swallowed every cliche,
best laid plans disintegrated away...
