Reality Always Proves Me Wrong
Not talking-
now what is the matter?
don't be so surprised
but the answer is you
Pull away and disconnect
making grandiose promises
breaking every single one,
'I don't care about your past'
When the answers
are right in front of his face
the solutions to problems
not sweeping everything under the carpet
This silence hurts
racking this brain
for prior conversations
nothing seems to register
Too old for this bedsit drama
trapped on some lopsided bed
bad memories rising
already swallowing too much
Waiting for the happiest moments
to catch me off guard
maybe leave this yard
just don't look back
This skin has whitened again
farmers tan long gone,
just when life is on the upswing
reality always proves me wrong
