    Big Fish Drowning In A Small Town Pond
    Awards are given
    for supposed feats
    of contested skill
    plaques and trophies rewarded
    inscribed and immortalized forever

    Now you can boost your game,
    border lining on becoming lame
    waving those arms at traffic lights
    big fish drowning in a small town pond

    Outgrown your clothing
    too big for your britches
    naked, alone in a secluded pond
    drama at the shore line

    Stolen clothes
    thrown into the trees
    runaway laughter
    echoing ,taunting undercurrent
    dancing on the evening breeze

    These trophies that line
    the top of your dresser
    inscribed in scratches
    engraved with an uncaring hand

    Just unimportant brass sheets
    attached with bolts and screws
    past your moment in the sun
    now you are nothing,
    an indistinguishable, little 'no one'
