Unexploded
This is an open invitation
to the man who never stepped up,
never walked into this life
Marred and betrayed
family kept getting in the way,
now I join the outcasts
Jesus will save me,
but will he pass by you?
under the viaducts,
with only my love as proof
Sick of that sinking feeling
that I'm never good enough
never even told my mother,
that her second son was gay
and my sweet baby sister,
full of venom and debate,
after all the looking after,
the real you has unfortunately,
arrived too late
Marriage is a mistake,
marrying someone venomous with hate,
with a background so suspect,
rebound love is fake
The truth will set you free,
don't even bother looking at me,
how much longer will I honestly feel,
like an unexploded powder keg?
