Maelstrom Over You
Maybe one day we'll meet
greet each other as old friends
on some ordinary street
Well I guess this all depends
on the weather,
and whether or not
the interest still lingers
I'm not placing bets
as I slowly get older
no longer caring to fret,
but actually feeling much bolder
as every day should be celebrated anew
and not let all the dissension
turn into some maelstrom over you,
like it unfortunately has for me
Tapping into this creativity
with just a hint of morbidity
always feeling so down
as this wheel keeps turning round
dancing in the black
with this light on my back
wanting to just let go
but my morality wants another go
so I let it this time
hoping for a spare moment
to just plainly unwind,
but Life to me is never kind
