In Tune
She said she was in tune
with everything in the room
while this internal clock
has decided to stop
But this biological clock is ticking
counting down the seconds
like a wayward bomb,
so sound the alarm
Kids from the neighborhood
are now parents
with offspring of their own
Me? I'm still alone
Looking forward to the future
the past has been trampled to the ground
a half presence in the present
waiting to go another round
She said she was in tune
with the strange weather outside
but Fall is taking bloom
this season is destined to die
There will be a resurrection
another season of subtle perfection
might leave this house on reflection
a quiet moment
of soulful introspection
