Human Candle
Share a little secretI am a human candle
wax and skin,
soiled within
Don't expect you to relate
rivulets of sweat
cascade down this brow
suicide, burning inside
Wading through water,
sluggish, struggling to breathe
anxiety for every taste
reality to cleave
Do the right thing,
not what makes your heart sing
Can you take the sting out of these words?
take off flying, like a flock of birds?
Not what you expected,
just another pathetic phase
the ugliness unspoken,
read in the look on his face
I can not breathe,
this atmosphere is stifling
burning, blackened wick,
laying it on rather thick
