Charity Case
Charity begins at home...
never.
these faces you create and wear
bring me to the edge of despair
clever.
On vacation,
so why do you hide away?
Is it because I'm still in the room?
watching the flickering images
on the television screen
repeat performances,
that mean so much to me
This is my life,
so creative and alone,
watching dust deposit,
on that little cell phone
another charity case,
only in your world,
a way to save face
for the rotten ways you disassociate
Must I dig another hole,
limiting my self control?
subjecting myself to another brick wall
hoping to slip through the various cracks?
Sharp pains in my side
pins and needles in my back
health is seriously failing me
trying to claw my way back,
out of this consuming bleakness,
where I am just a lowly, mute witness...
