Drawing Blanks
I seem to be marooned
inside this room
with frosted windows
and frigid air
a wonderful outlook of gloom
you've siphoned the life from me
so remove the knife
I'm indifferent to this plight
trying to find the beauty
within this stagnant hype
living breathing skeletons
with killing viral loads
this world is in flames
reality about to implode
Cannot keep anything down
emotional wreckage
left steaming on the ground
anomalous mounts
can only bind
what are we hiding for?
just walk through the door
I'm trusting these instincts
not some lettered shrink
twisting and prying
trying conversations
with clinically,improvised lying
it must have been all the drugs
happily subjected to
or the countless drinks
when these eyes undressed you
but reality revealed her ugly head
ended up drawing blanks instead...
