Double Standards
Finding it rather lame, how I'm excluded at some wedding celebration
when the bride to be was present,
at my mother's funeral wake
She is a stranger
yet felt compelled enough
to pay respects to my dear departed mom,
but excluded me from a celebration of life
What a double standard
such pointless pathetic candor
please don't ever have children,
what a horrible role model you'd make
Did you invite the selected few,
to dine off gilded plates?
while the cash register screams
inside your pathetic head?
Trying to keep track
of all those monetary handouts,
probably will return most gifts,
staining those greedy fingers green
So in love with a cash machine
spitting out generic pleasantries
In their 20's,
pockets lined with twenties
How suspect is that?
