November Promises
Edging again
drag me to the side
convince me to confide
taking it all in stride
Overcast again
can't see the light
swirling gray days
goodness recedes and fades
November promises
much more of the same
faded summer bliss
cliched, tainted kiss
Can only see the black
like an overcoat,
swirling all around
now don't look back
Stone faces beckon
five o'clock shadows deepen
no apparent day of reckoning
hidden reflections peering
Self analysis
on another broken couch
words reflecting paralysis
escaping from this mouth
Another holiday alone
like the forty-four before
whatever is in store,
celebrating behind locked doors
