Howl
People honestly never seem to be
the rosy ways they portray
pull the wool over willing eyes
now there will never be any more surprises
Senses may fade
but memories still linger
like a flickering light
in a dying world
Never thought this focus was a wall
always felt this lost and small
now it's down on all fours to crawl
or surrender to everything and howl
Maybe throw in the proverbial towel
or chuck everything
every moment that this pain brings
head out that door and grovel
Grab a shovel
dig a hole to China
not that you'd get very far
expending energy is so hard
Indifference in every backyard
crazy, fucking medicated
life lost, thoroughly frustrated
spitting selfishness
Oh, just admit it
Never thought this focus was a wall
always felt this lost and small
now it's down on all fours to crawl
or surrender to everything and howl
