The Worms Have Returned
Sorry I wasted my breath,
didn't mean to waste your time
conversation with another brick wall,
or is this all in my mind?
Never to be on the same page,
blinded by such an insincere rage
hiding behind a plastic smile,
trapped in another circular file
Another eye-opener,
epiphanies come crashing down,
and all the stars in the sky,
witnessing another alibi
Where is this person,
who should be sweeping me off my feet?
Why don't I feel enlightened,
turned off, by such a lackluster feat?
The worms have returned,
crawling back into the light
the truth never lies,
resting on one's back,
kissing it all goodbye...
