These Eyes
Good intentions are never enough
mincing hard words into fluff
now calling this bluff
blow away from me
Flying solo is often hard
surrounded by families in every yard
wonder why I was dealt these cards
shedding this skin and perceived disguise
They won't even look me in the eyes
monotony reigns in this every day life
swallowing it all, writing this down
always alone, nobody is around
Escape to the internet
it's truly another world
become a new identity and forget
the negativity forever being hurled
Look up to the rising sun
reflecting the actions of everyone
these eyes only shine in the shade
over empty promises always being made
Buried many layers deep
the world crashes into me
never any sort of apologies
close these eyes and sleep
