It Gets Better
In the media spotlight
yet another blitz
sound bytes to counter fights
for those who sadly missed the boat
Silent screams from this throat
saddened to know another one can't cope
it gets better,
but only by following hope to the letter
This silent minority has been there
huddled alone in the back ways
creeping wearily down countless stairs
dodging punches, spit and adolescent wit
Don't take your lives
there is so much to live for
struggle through your puberty
at the end there is a door
Walk through the exit
you may forgive, but you won't forget
as the unspoiled years beckon to you
unsoiled, untrodden, undiscovered
Don't let these hypocrites win
some day they will answer
to every rotten thing guaranteed
in answer to this
