    In Denial

    Thinking back on all the liaisons
    that I'd rather forget
    have a twirl, in a whirl
    but never any regrets

    Not in my roaring twenties
    nor swilling assorted drinks
    forgetting about the forgettable world
    avoiding the unpleasantness of life

    Take a deep breath
    heave a world weary sigh
    graduated from 3 ring notebooks
    to semi anonymous blogs online

    Now read these thoughts
    which may be true
    or just another played out emotion
    a half buried truth

    This life isn't a romantic comedy
    or some dry Shakespearean play
    there is no reckoning or revival,
    just a life time living in denial

    Ah yes but don't we all live in a certain amount of denial? I do think so honestly...sometimes a little denial can go a long way in sheltering us from what we cant yet handle. As you said in this poem " half buried truths" ....this is full of truth my friend....Hello to you in NY..take a bite out of that rotten apple for me friend.
