Nevada Wedding Chapel Blues
The love that dare not speak its name
hidden behind a societal wall
where one is supposed to crawl
all in the name of shame
While they continue to jump ship
everyone turns a blind eye
so they always get away with it
or cover up with little white lies
Nevada wedding chapel blues
honestly drunk too much that evening
lost all the money on dollar slots
there's really nothing much else to do
or maybe that was a prostitute
living in some degenerate fantasy
since she's poor and destitute
or maybe just bored and antsy
Unwanted children never seen or heard
but they are closely watching you
cursing you beneath their fragile breaths
dreaming of your painful death
All they wanted was to hold another
lawyers and politicians couldn't be bothered
unless it's election time,
outstretched hands palming for nickels and dimes
Now this cynical outlook
affects every aspect of life
and when one rejects a wife
Hell and Calamity hath taken over
