Grind
Where is my man to pummel me?
to rest awhile inside of me?
to see the hypocrisy of this family?
This one-sidedness
is the opposite of bliss
These whispers and stares
and quite pointless glares
show me the stranger you've become
All these life experiences
apparently experienced wrong
Selling your own soul
just to belong
While I see a world
that has plainly gone wrong
Rejecting these suitors
whose honesty is suspect at best
These strangers whom you invited
to the family table
plunder and feast
but I'm not welcome to or able
to sample the ample fruits
or garden roots
Are you afraid I'll trample your pathetic dreams?
Grind the lies into yellowed dust?
Whatever happened to discretion and trust?
These open wounds
forever spew rust
