Until Everything Disappears
Brought him to tears
but what does it matter?
for these past few years
a cold hold on reality shattered
Psychological drivel
bring out the shovels
for it's getting thick in here
a mirrored reflection casting a sneer
Where are the wedding rings,
oh symbiotic love?
the cherished vows?
adoring crowds?
Burnt out shell
crawled away from a familiar hell
and this new millennium
filled with the same trappings
Everything new is old hat
seen this all before
waiting for enlightenment
around the next corner
Hanging in front of a window
watching the morning sun
burning off cold morning dew
this old life somehow askew
While some bedsit drama unfolds upstairs
this tired soul is stripped bare
writing disconnected strings of poetry
until everything disappears
