Choked
Closing down,
with each breath taken
there are no mistakes,
nor excuses, to be mistaken,
misjudged, broken
every symbolic token
gone, like angry fingers
dancing around this neck,
seeing stars exploding,
a chance to forget
everything is slowing down,
a half life at half speed
eyes staring at the ground,
losing the will to believe
in anything positive,
finding a way to wade through
all this disappointment,
family tirades, familiar lies
too exhausted to care,
sick of such self-righteous attitudes,
and a redundant repertoire,
of endless, water colored replies
