Filament
Reading these words
trying to discover the meaning,
what was the reasoning,
pouring salt on wounds?
Alone in this room
cold coffee in the cup
counting the dried rings
guess I have had enough
Then the computer crashes
my thoughts turn to ashes
typed words vanish
in a whirlwind of failure
Maybe it is time to reflect
on the sad state of affairs
that this home has to offer,
a cold war that never seems to end
You are what you are:
a shiny filament
in some shooting star
trailing across Life
Igniting the heavens
illuminating the bellows
striving too high
crashing unbelievably low
