    Ripples

    Gave for a lifetime
    but nothing seems to matter
    business as usual
    with all the one-sided chatter

    Refusing to speak
    yet another useless stance
    just another sellout freak
    nothing is left to chance

    Boiling over, becoming older
    time marches on,
    ripples in a pond
    some people commit to harm

    Another con job
    with all the usual trappings
    sugary charisma
    a penchant for gums flapping

    So come up for air
    maybe take a step back
    this one-sided affair
    is a wrong way track

    This smile is holding at bay
    a roundabout of passive dismay
    wrong answers seem to be a cancer
    plaguing the world today

    Experience is an unforgiving teacher
    one-sided views from a street preacher
    so get out of the way and step aside,
    somethings can't be contained
    no matter how hard they try

    "This smile is holding at bay a roundabout of passive dismay", this line is so familiar to me and sometimes its all you can do...great work!
