It All Comes Rushing Back
Trying to tear one down with words,
as if this body will shudder
and collapse into sand
or liquify into obscure pools
of running denial
Learning to cope
is a life long obsession
that doesn't always happen,
yet have to remember
the sun will rise again tomorrow
so dust the wreckage off
and go at it again
Always the same old story
put down at an early age
now it all comes rushing back
to taint adulthood
and the point is meaningless
and the anger is directional-less
but somehow certain people
always feel the need
to jab a self righteous finger
into the chest
and shout,
"I told you so!"
