    In Passing

    Promises you swore to keep
    strip the soul from
    this humanity
    lost for eternity
    And when we go drowning
    deep down in the void
    electrical sparks ignite
    at some cellular level
    burning out quickly
    in brilliant flashes
    of white heat
    an after glow
    wanes and flickers
    and all we've known
    every truth ever shown
    ends uneventfully
    as the universe
    tears us apart
